Last week, Team Bluewood joined forces with our friends at Maughan Mitchell to take part in a unique fundraising challenge — walking barefoot across hot coals in support of Abby’s Heroes.
Held at The Four Horseshoes in Southampton, the Firewalk was more than just a physical challenge. It was an opportunity to raise money and awareness for a charity that provides crucial support to families affected by childhood cancer.
A Meaningful Evening
Throughout the evening, we had the chance to speak with some of the people who’ve directly benefited from Abby’s Heroes. One of the most memorable moments was meeting Julie, a fellow firewalker, who shared her story about receiving a grant from the charity earlier this year when her daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Her courage and openness reminded us why these events matter.
In total, 24 people took part in the walk, raising a significant amount for the charity. But there’s always room to do more.
