The Scenario

This was a project completed for EFlorist, a global flower delivery provider, originating in the UK and now spanning more than 20 countries worldwide. The HQ is in Southampton, and the team relocated for expansion to a 4,000 sq ft ground-floor office in Chandlers Ford.

The Process

The brief was to create a modern and minimal environment that breathes life into the space. We had real fun with the colour palette on this project. As part of the floristry industry, our clients work with colour all day, and so shared our idea to bring vibrant and bold statement walls into their brand new HQ.

The Work

We decided upon a palette of three strong colours that worked well together or in pairs and, together with the in-house photographer at Eflorist, chose various walls within the open plan and cellular spaces to stamp personality into the space.

The specifications for the board room were multiple in function. This space needed to work as a fully functioning executive meeting room to seat 12 and equipped with video conferencing facilities and a large screen wall-mounted TV. In addition, the room was to double as a photography studio, which could be used to take images of floral arrangements. We decided to use hard flooring in this room to allow for damage imitation from possible water, flower feed or pollen spillages.

For the tea-point, we used white metro tiles to give a contemporary finish and introduced bespoke shelving made from scaffold boards and pipe to give some depth and character. Neon signage was also installed to give a café-style feel to the break-out area and bring a further splash of colour and fun.

We were tasked with economising as best as possible by working with the existing layout as closely as possible, but without compromising our client’s vision and functional requirements. We installed new doors to modernise the space and used glass partitioning to maximise light and give an open plan look and feel.

Other works included brand new carpet tiles throughout the office space, brand new LVT within the tea-point and Board Room, wall finishes, lighting, data and cabling to accommodate the modifications to the existing floor-plan, installation of a fully functioning tea-point with coffee machine, instant hot tap, and appliances as well as a multi-functional island equipped with power.
